It was a weekend of more firsts. Three, to be exact, as the title so cleverly suggests.
Friday marked Sofia's first party, and I'll go ahead and lump it in that it was our first night out since she was born. We actually made it out of the house with all three of us in nice clothes, clean underpants (yes, I don't mean just Sofia), with full bellies, and I even remembered to put on matching shoes! Triumph for a new mama. The only forgotten item was our camera, but I'm hoping to collect some pics from others later on.
Sunday, of course, was our first Mother's Day. Johnny obviously told that to Sofia, because she was a little angel. We got to church on time, and once again, all of us in nice clothes with clean underpants! More triumph. The rest of the day passed fairly uneventfully, as do most days with a new baby who's breastfeeding. But just knowing the day was set aside for mamas was pretty special, and we wrapped up the day with the rest of my family, gorging on pizza and good wine.
Sunday night brought about a more dubious first -- our first night up past 1 a.m. Perhaps I should've listened to MY mom when she suggested avoiding the cabbage salad...And just in case anyone is wondering, there is NOTHING worth watching on TV at 1 a.m. Monday morning. "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila Part 2" is even worse than you might think. Don't bother.
Hey, look, I made it through a whole post without mentioning poop!
