Unorthodox parenting

I wonder if we're the only parents to use the "wet willy" technique to quell fussing?

At least we don't have to use it all that often these days.

PC vs. Mac? Don't make me answer that...

Does computer karma exist? If so, what in the world have I done to a past computer to deserve the technological ills that have befallen me recently?

First, there was the virus that wiped out my PC. Then the repair that brought it back. Then another crash, another repair, this time including a complete backup onto an external hard drive. Then the problems started again. So, I decided to bite the bullet and order a Macbook, hooray! The Macbook arrives to much fanfare, only to have problems from the very first boot-up. Apple helpline tells me I need to erase the computer and reinstall the operating system. OK, I'll go with this. So I erase the computer and try to reinstall the operating system, only to find that my media was damaged and the installation couldn't be completed. Back to the Apple helpline. They send new discs. Discs work. Computer seemingly works normally. Eventually problems begin again. I call Apple to return the darn thing. And now....dah-dah-dah-dahhhhhhh! I have my new, functional Mac beneath my fingertips. Only to find that the back-up of my PC didn't work. Siiiiigh. At least I'm online.

Anyway, time for some much needed updates! We are in the golden age of babyhood right now. The fussy stage is completely over with, and we've got pretty much the world's cutest, smiliest, non-mobile baby on our hands. It's great -- who says that parenting is tough*? (*insert highly sarcastic tone here)

Sofia has totally mastered rolling over from her back to her belly, but has still only gone the other way twice. Perhaps she is not an ambi-turner...She is ridiculously strong, and loves shoving everything into her mouth. Her completely drool-filled mouth. Yep, the epic drooling persists, and we still haven't seen any signs of teeth yet. Fine by me!

She got her first taste of solid food last week! She went right for the spoon like she's been doing it for years, slurping that yummy rice cereal like a champ. We aren't on a solid food routine yet though, it's not totally necessary at this point, and we were also interrupted by our trip to Denver.

Regarding the trip, I just have to say how absolutely luxurious it was to not be flying standby. Wow. Having guaranteed seats actually made the lines, rude airline employees and baby-frisking security guards seem tolerable. Once again, Sofia traveled amazingly well. She charmed all those around her...with every flight, whenever we deboarded and were setting up the stroller, she'd have at least 3-4 people pass by saying "bye Sofia!"

Colorado was gorgeous, as always, and our hosts Ted and Brit were lovely, as always. In lieu of more writing, I'm just going to post some pics from the trip:
